A beige puffer jacket worn with a dark beige jumper dress, beige ankle boots, and a pale yellow, crossbody bag.

How many jackets are too many?

Addicted to shopping I am for sure, maybe that’s why I couldn’t pass by the dress, the jacket and the bag. But let’s start from the beginning. The bag was on my radar from the summer. It was way too expensive to pay the full price, but I did love its squishiness and the colour, yellow but not in your face. After it went on sale I have snapped it up as the colour is muted enough not to be just a summer bag but it will fit into my winter colour scheme. The dress was full price, but I know how difficult it is to find a jumper dress that ticks all of the boxes at a reasonable price I was looking for one for the last 2 years. And the jacket was totally not needed but wanted, because of its colour and the fact that is cropped. All my winter jackets are longer, which makes perfect sense in colder months, but also gives the same silhouette. We shall see how practical a short jacket will be. On the other hand, winters hardly ever are frosty anymore. Overall I’m very pleased with this modern look.

E’s lookbook ‘Long cardigan’

Earrings: Primark

Long cardigan: Nutmeg

Cardigan: Primark

Trousers: Stradivarius

Boots: Weide

Bag: H&M

A long, beige cardigan worn with a sage green short cardigan, beige trousers, green boots, and pale yellow clutch bag.

Long cardigan with lazer cut boot.

Love the green boots, but they do not photograph well. The whole outfit is surprisingly well colour coordinated and jet the picture does not show it well. All items have golden hardware. The earrings match the boots, the boots match the short cardigan. The trousers match the long cardigan which grounds it all. And the bag fits the overall colour scheme. Will have to try harder next time.

Bracelets: Primark

A pastel green, patterned, cotton dress worn with a nude Casstanier type of sandals, nude bag, belt, and earrings.

Old dress new way

Having a classical, cotton boring dress gives lots of opportunities to try and reinvent the way it is worn every season. It is a very granny, no offense to grannies, type of dress that to give it a new breath of life requires modern accessories. I am wearing the dress with Casstanier like wedges, a very on-trend neutral belt, and a modern bag and earrings. It is the accessories that make the outfit work.

E’s lookbook ‘ Multicoloured stripy top’

Top unknown

Trousers: Primark

Boots: Dupes for Balenciaga

Bag: Kaemingk

A multi-coloured stripy top with a collar worn with wide-leg denim trousers, beige ankle boots and a neutral colour shoulder bag.

It’s the look not the price.

It took me a year to alter this little blouse. I got it in last year’s sale because of its pattern which I find looking rather a high end. The blouse cost me ¬£3 and I was prepared to put in some work to fit me better. But as the year progressed there was always something more urgent to do and finally as the summer was coming to the end I have managed to do the alterations and have in my wardrobe a fab new blouse. Love the muted colors in those stripes but especially the muted blue that is a perfect match to a pair of wide-leg jeans that I have acquired in spring. For my footwear, I have a pair of Balenciaga lookalikes which were a lovely present. With an organic color shopper, the look is complete.

E’s lookbook ‘Old navy classic’

Cardigan: Monsoon

Bomber: Stella

Trousers: H&M

Brogues: Primark

Bag: Rowallan

A pale pink, floral bomber jacket worn with a waterfall navy blue cardigan, pink brogues and navy blue jeans and a bag.

The picture does not do it a justice.

The bomber jacket barely visible in this picture has a floral print with a pale gold metallic thread and pale pink background and it’s stunning. Combined with a much plainer cardigan, skinny jeans and pale pink brogues makes the outfit wearable and cool. want more colour keep the cardigan open, want it less wrap the cardigan up. the colour combination is neutral with a bit of a pop of metallic. overall a croud pleaser.

E’s lookbook ‘White and rose gold enchantment’

Coat: Primark

Jumper: H&M

Trousers: Dorothy Perkins

Bag: New Look

Trainers: Primark

A white puffer coat worn with a white jumper, white earrings, beige trousers, cream trainers and rose-gold bag.

White and rose gold enchantment

this might be, but practical it is not. Winter white is very in vogue. It looks exceptionally fresh and one does stand out in a crowd of sensibly dressed in all black people. But only if you like drama. The drama of avoiding all puddles especially near the roads, all friendly dogs and basically not being able to risk sitting on any surface in case of transferring the dirt onto yourself. Jokes aside I do fancy this look. Casual but different, comfortable but elevated. Colours do all the work, or rather lack of them? And it’s not boring as all garments have different textures.

E’s lookbook ‘Rosegold sequins’

Jacket handmade

Cardigan: Qued

Vest unknown

Trousers: Stradivarius

Flats: Primark

Bak: Kaemingk

Well, when you just can’t wait until next summer. I have just got this rose gold sequined top for absolute pennies and decided that today I’m going to wear it no matter what. To start with the weather is rather cold, so I need to layer. Typically I seem to have a polo neck in most colours , but not in beige. On the other hand, I do have a cardigan in such colour so it had to do. If it is a bit odd to wear a vest over a cardigan, let me tell you it’s only clothes that you take off at the end of the day. To make everything colour coordinated I went with beige trousers and a pale pink tailored jacket, pink shoes and a beige bag. And it didn’t rain today.

Top: Primark

Trousers: Stradivarius

Wristlet: Julien McDonald

Brogues: Primark

When you need something fresh but neutral also, this combination seems perfect. I have added some silver because it wouldn’t be otherwise. But it’s always good to have something beige and pale grey in your summer wardrobe. Also, I have never worn these earrings since I have bought them. Every time I have put them on, something was ‘off’ about them, until I have figured out that they were too long for my face, so a bit of scissors action and now they fit just fine.
