Flares always make a statement in any outfit. I do need to be in a mood to wear them as they always draw the attention of passers-by. Living in the era of skinny jeans any other cut will be noticed especially the opposite one. But this time I think I have cracked it. I do not look like taken out of the 70-ties. Whether it is the baseball top or the oversized blazer or the hair pulled back. I do like the look.
I have already done this colour combination in the past. But since I want to get as much wear as possible from my favourite clothes I want to give those trousers another spin. While purchasing the pants I could get a matching blazer. But the cut and the quality were questionable so I have opted out. And imagine that, about a month later I have found in a charity shop a blazer in a matching colour in a more flattering cut. Now I have a trouser suit. To give it casual feel I have paired it with trainers. Not plain but monochromatic sneak print. And to replicate the monochromatic feel I have chosen black and white, street vibe, basketball T-shirt.
I have worn these dungarees a few times and every time I’m trying to give them a different feel. I have done sporty and casual this time is sexier. I have found this top in a charity shop and got it as it is a good basic but it has a very deep decolletage so I have turned it back to front to make it more season-appropriate. Long silver earrings to match the hardware in the dungarees and a blazer to elevate it slightly which I later swapped for a jacket as it got chillier.
I have bought these wide-leg trousers on sale from Primark, they have a very vintage vibe for me, a bit of 70-ties a bit of 40-ties look. Hope to wear them all winter. Like them with a skinny, vintage belt.
It didn’t take me long to decide whether to buy the trousers in the charity shop, for a fraction of the price I’m having an over the top trousers that I will wear in this and in the next season. Silver and gold are everywhere. I have paired them with a T-shirt borrowed from my boyfriend with the same copper-gold and silver design. A plain black blazer and black boots with a golden heal, because why not? And a golden clutch bag.
