As per usual the cape was an amazing charity shop find. It had a tired faux fur collar and was much longer. To be honest wasn’t that impressive but it had potential. The color of the cape is good on me. I have realized that despite the fact that I am drawn to warm tone browns, they do not look good against my skin. The scarf used to be a blanket scarf which I never used to wear because of the volume of the fabric around my neck, so I have cut it down and now it’s more wearable. The colours in the scarf, boots and bag all match. But the leather jacket and the faux leather trousers are more of a filler. The cape lays better on a slippery fabric in this example leather.
An old , black faux leather jacket gets a lot of use in anyone’s wardrobe. Black colour unfortunately isn’t the best for the pictures. Everyone comes out a bit washed out and a few years older. Personaly I would prefer a jacket in different colour but black is always a staple in every shop, every year. Today I wanted to style the bronze trousers that I have had for a while. The colours in the very old M&S blouse pick up the autumnal colour of the trousers. I was trying to make the trousers more current by folding them in a deep culf just above the last season booties. The point I’m trying to make is to give new life to some oldies that you already have.
Wearing a white skirt on a rainy day is asking for trouble unless it is a faux leather pleated skirt, that any dirty water can be just wiped off it. I have paired it obviously with another faux leather garment- short, black jacket and of course faux leather black boots. A monochromatic look for a rainy day.
I think when trying to wear a mini dress with leggings but not to look too old fashioned is to wear it with shiny leggings. this pair I got of e-bay and it cost me around £5. Together with leather booties, it has a very modern, tough look. The belt is from patent leather and the coat is a wrap-up type.
It all has started with this fab blouse that has been handed down to me. I didn’t want to wear it over a black top, so I have chosen a brick colour top, but then the weather forecast was all rain so I have decided to wear a leather jacket and the faux-leather trousers sprang to mind automatically and sensible shoes good for rain and a black bag to finish it all.
