Sales allow you to try new things.

Not all trends should be followed, but sometimes sheer luck allows you to dip your toes into unknown territories. During the summer sales purely by chance, I have come across those latex leggings in my size for £3. If they were the full price I probably would have omitted them entirely. I do like the colour and they fit well although they are not very stretchy and when walking they make a specific noise. I have seen lots of latex on runways for winter 20/21 so wearing it during a day is not a new concept. They do make a bit of a statement so I have paired them with something more earthy in form of the woven, geish-beige cardigan and a woven bag. Both of them add different texture so not everything is shiny and reflective. Confession time: the boots are new but from sales too.

Bag – vintage

Chartreuse, summer dress worn with an army green polo neck, army green trousers, brown long coat and brown, vintage bag.Outfit ideas for real people, styling on a budget

Still wearing summer pieces.

There we go again, stuck at home.No going out, but if I could that is exactly what I would be wearing. I’m obsessed with this chartreuse, silky dress. I’m still trying to wear summer pieces because soon all I will want to wear will be warm, chunky sweaters, scarfs and not much variety. Also making the most of the brown coat, that as predicted goes with most outfits. To make the dress more season-appropriate I’m wearing a warmer polo neck underneath it and also trousers. So the dress ends up being more of a tunic. The trick of layering. I was going to also add a belt but it looked a bit too much. Vintage bag to finish it off.

E’s lookbook ‘Jewel-coloured striped jumpsuit’

Lookbook:

Earrings: Primark

Polo-neck unknown

Jumpsuit: New Look

Belt unknown

Boots: Primark

Fashion should be fun. And the colour is not reserved only for summer. When I saw this jumpsuit in a charity shop it screamed to me: summer, but to make the most of your wardrobe it’s good to try to make summer clothes work in different seasons to. This is my attempt to make it work in early spring. The jewel colours are perfect for this time of year. And since I already have plenty of colour why not to throw a bit of sparkle too, for good measures, it’s good not to play it safe sometimes, after all, it’s only clothes.

E’s lookbook ‘Navy blue and white’

Lookbook:

Coat: Primark

Polo-neck: Primark

Cardigan: Next

Jeans: Dele

Trainers: Primark

Bag: Rowallan

Not raining for once so let’s make the most of it and wear the white coat I got last year. I have also got this navy blue cardigan from a charity shop. I love the texture on it, it looks like fish scales. The state of the cardigan was quite appalling, but from experience, I knew that if I trim all of the ‘scales’ slightly, which took about a day while watching some TV, the cardigan will look brand new. I wanted it to be all navy blue and white and comfortable and warm, hence the perennial polo-neck, denim and trainers.

E’s lookbook ‘ Old woolen coat’

Lookbook:

Coat unknown

Polo-neck unknown

Top: Zara

Trousers: Monsoon

Brogues: Deichmann

So I have dug up that old relic coat of mine that is very warm (wool+cashmere) slightly old fashioned cut but it’s way too good to get rid off and tried to keep everything in the same tone. The top is from Zara and looks very, Chanel-like plus grey trousers plus brogues, all in my books very relaxed and modern.

E’s lookbook ‘Pink and emerald green’

Lookbook:

Coat: Primark

Earrings unknown

Polo-neck unknown

Jumper unknown

Trousers: Matalan

Trainers: Primark

Clutch bag: Primark

I have seen this combination of pink and emerald green somewhere and decided to wear it in an outfit. I knew I had a jumper in emerald but nothing else and then I have remembered the peacock earrings that haven’t been out since early 2000, I’m still surprised that they have not disintegrated and they definetely make a statement.

E’s lookbook ‘Brooch’

Lookbook:

Coat: Primark

Brooch unknown ( vintage )

Polo-neck: Primark

Hooded jumper: New Look

Trousers: Primark

Trainers; Primark

Bag: DKNY

I wanted to wear black trousers with white trainers, so to tie up the whole outfit I have replicated the same colours on the top with a black hooded jumper and a white polo-neck. I have also added a vintage brooch and a black shopper.

E’s lookbook ‘Sporty top black and white’

Lookbook:

Jacket: Ben Shermann

Polo-neck: Primark

Top: Brookhaven

Denim unknown

Trainers: Primark

Bag: DKNY

Nothing beats a good trainer when you need to do errands all-day. Going with the theme- a sporty top and a polo-neck because it is still cold and a leather jacket because it’s windy and a big shopper to fit everything in. Sorted.

E’s lookbook ‘Red Adidas top’

Lookbook:

Coat: Primark

Top: Adidas

Polo-neck: Primark

Trousers: Zara

Boots: Primark

Bag unknown

Have you ever build a whole outfit around a bag just because you can’t be asked to move your stuff to another one, I just did. The bag is red so I needed another red thing and there it is an old favourite, an Adidas top with a very unusual cut that is fitted and flattering. White polo-neck to match the stipes and army green bottom. Oatmeal coat to make it feel lighter.

E’s lookbook ‘Brown overload’

Lookbook:

Jacket: Morgan

Polo neck unknown

Trousers: H&M

Boots: Primark

Bag- vintage

It’s autumn and the suede jacket is out of the wardrobe again. This time in almost all brown outfit. I have mixed different finishes for a more diverse look, all matt could have been too boring.
